Maccabia (Color War)
Maccabia (Color War)
Maccabia (Color War) brings out the best of our teens through peer led teams, organized competitions, song, dance, and a 24-hour ruach (spirit) marathon!
The highlight of the summer for so many of our teens is our Maccabia (Color War) that challenges our campers with fun, friendly and high energy competitions that channel our campers’ creativity, ability to work in teams, athleticism, and team-spirit! Led by their team captains, who are chosen from our oldest teens in Hadracha and Hamamah, teams compete throughout the day in a variety of challenges, including:
- Sports (basketball, soccer, flag football, swimming, high ropes course, etc.)
- Art (bench-painting, cake decorating, team banners and plaques, etc)
- Performances (team song, skits, lip sync, Israeli dancing and singing)
- Team Spirit (team cheers, good sportsmanship, etc.)
- Smarts (Israeli trivia, Hebrew spelling bee, chess, etc.)
- Relay!
Maccabia includes all of our teens’ interests, skills and abilities to build a meaningful and inclusive color war that brings together our camp for a day of fun competitions, spirit and peer leadership!
