Special Funds
Lara's Place:
Lara Sobel z”l lost her life in a senseless tragedy on August 8, 2015. A native of the Long Island region of Young Judaea, Lara grew up at Sprout Lake and Tel Yehudah, where she developed a strong commitment to advancing social justice. After graduating the University of Vermont, she received an MA in social work and dedicated her life to Vermont’s neediest cases. Lara gave her heart and soul to family and child protective services until her life was violently taken by a client.
In keeping with Lara’s spirit, we will build “Lara’s Place,” a medurah (campfire) site at Tel Yehudah. This will be a place where current and future generations of the TY community will gather, hang out, sing arm in arm, roast marshmallows and stargaze. This is the perfect combination of the many things that Lara cherished in life.
Help us honor Lara’s memory, her commitment to youth, and her love for Camp Tel Yehudah by making a gift today to help build Lara’s Place.
Jules Frankel Z"L Memorial Scholarship Fund:
In memory of their beloved husband and father, Jules, the Frankel family has asked that donations be made to Camp Tel Yehudah (TY) to fund scholarships in his name. Camp Tel Yehudah played a central role in Jules and Susan’s youth, as it did in the lives of their children, Rabbi Leora and David. We hope that by providing much needed funds to help other teenagers attend TY, we will be perpetuating the values with which Jules framed his life.

Tel Yehudah Staff Fund:
Each summer, we bring a diverse and deeply committed group of 150+ young people from across North America, Israel, the UK and more. Our staff works tirelessly to create an unparalleled experience for our teens. The TY Staff Fund helps support orientation and in-service training, day off transportation, fun evening activities, end of summer staff banquet and more. The staff members will be notified of your gift on their behalf.
